Harrison Read’s father was a concrete mason who specialized in high-end concrete work. He instilled a strong work ethic in his son and always emphasized the importance of family. Harrison can remember going out on jobsites as early as 4 years old to watch and learn from his dad, who always made time to attend Harrison’s baseball games even after a long day of work. These valuable lessons created the foundation of what 56 West Construction embodies today.

In naming the company, Harrison chose to honor his father’s legacy by using the year he was born – 1956 – and the direction – West – to show his father’s influence. The name symbolizes the values and upbringing that instilled the company’s core principle to provide a personal touch to every home improvement project we undertake.
